FRx Tip
Adding Rows from Chart of
Accounts: You can have FRx Financial Reporting
build a row format for you by using the menu item Edit
> Add Rows from Chart of Accounts. This can save you
from having to type all the row descriptions and account
numbers.
- Descriptions come first from Account Segment
Set-up, and then from Account Maintenance
- This does not do an insert. Adding Rows from Chart
of Accounts will write over any existing rows in the
row format

| Message from Bill Kracunas
|
|
As I
reflect on the recent uncertainty of the economy,
it highlights the need to get the most out of your
information technology spending. Companies are
facing a choice; use technology to help fuel
growth or use technology to help operate more
efficiently and effectively.
Growth technologies include
business intelligence systems, customer portals
and CRM systems. Efficiency and effectiveness can
be achieved via business process, collaboration,
workflow, ERP, and integration systems.
Determining which systems to use and implement are
critical business decisions that will help drive
corporate growth and profitability. Where your
organization stands in its lifecycle (revenue
growth or profitability) will help to
dictate the priority of your IT
projects. Our enhanced capabilities enable us to
provide clients with a unique understanding of
business and technology, to help them come to the
"right" business decisions.
I cannot stress how important it
is to link your business strategy to your IT
strategy, and to develop a comprehensive IT plan
that enables you to be successful not only day to
day, but also as you as move into the
future.

| Vendor Security
Management |
|
Ty Hollins - Manager,
Technology Consulting, Vitale
Caturano
Many organizations are challenged with
assessing, improving, and verifying the implementation
of appropriate security controls at firms that share
network connections or data. Additionally, requirements
of several regulations make this an urgent
concern. Typically, firms face three challenges
regarding vendor management. Issues
- What best practices should be
used as a basis for assessment?
- Which assessment mechanism
should be used?
- What actions should be
mandated if controls are found
deficient?

Cardarelli's Address at Microsoft's Best of SharePoint
Event |
|
|
Vitale Caturano's Director of
Portals & Collaboration, Mauro Cardarelli, was
invited to speak to over 100 attendees at Microsoft's
Best in SharePoint event on May 21st. He spoke about:
Collaboration, Knowledge Management, and Social
Networking for Enterprise Companies.
Key points included:
- The importance and impact of social networking
- Younger generations will expect personalization
and knowledge sharing from their employers (which
SharePoint provides)
- Many organizations fail to devote time to
personalizing SharePoint, and do not enhance the user
experience to its fullest potential
- How to target content, i.e. how SharePoint can
eliminate e-mail distribution lists, and which
enhancements allow users to personalize their
corporate intranet
Carmelo Lisciotto, Director of IT Operations
& Infrastructure Services at Pegasystems and a
Vitale Caturano client, also addressed the group.
Carmelo discussed issues from the user's
perspective. While SharePoint has improved
business for Pegasystems, Carmelo also talked about the
challenges the company faced during the implementation.

issues, please contact Doug
